Suk’s Thai Kitchen is a new restaurant which just opened its doors earlier this October. Conveniently located just about a minute’s walk from Farrer Park MRT Station Exit B, it is hard to miss with the neon lights at its entrance. We also love the vibrant interior that will remind you of the lively streets of Bangkok at night.
Their menu offers a wide range of dishes from the classic Tom Yum and Green Curry to more exclusive ones like Northern Thai Laksa. Regardless of your picks, rest assured that your food is authentic as the head chef behind this new restaurant hails from Thailand itself.
Our Verdict
Generally, all their dishes came in good portions and can be considered great value for the price. We judge a Thai restaurant’s standard by the quality of its Tom Yum, and you will be pleased with their version as it is authentic with just the right amount of herbs and spices. It is truly addictive and even comes with huge, fleshly prawns!
The deep-fried Thai Prawn Cakes and Thai Chicken Wings are flavourful side dishes that we think will be popular with kids especially when pair with the sweet chilli sauce provided.
It was our first time trying the Northern Thai Laksa which is not a commonly available dish at Thai restaurants in Singapore. However, we were slightly disappointed that it tasted much blander than we expected as it did not have the signature tangy and spicy flavours of typical Thai dishes that will excite your taste buds.
As always, we suggest you pair your meal with a good Thai Milk Tea. If you have space for dessert, we highly recommend the Iced Longan with Aiyu Jelly. It is so simple but serves as a good ending to a Thai meal as it is light and refreshing.
Suk’s Thai Kitchen is definitely worth checking out. With its extensive menu, you are likely to find what you miss in Bangkok. Be sure to visit early to avoid having to queue, especially on a Friday & Saturday night!
