Sushi Tei is one of our favourite restaurants in Singapore for its good variety of Japanese cuisine. Whenever we visit, we make sure to order their Sashimi salad and we pair it with their delicious House Dressing as they go very well together. This dressing is also known as the Carrot Ginger Dressing which is a popular dressing in Japan. It is pleasant and addictive due to its sweet and tangy flavours and helps to brighten up any salad. We love it so much we decided to make our own so that we could enjoy it anytime at home. Well, this is also a useful recipe for couples to learn at home during this COVID-19 period.
The Carrot Ginger Salad Dressing is actually incredibly easy to make – simply put the required essential ingredients together and blend! It can be done in less than 10 mins. Those ingredients can be purchased from any Japanese grocery store in Singapore.

– 1 inch of ginger (~15g)
– 1 tbsp of white miso
– 1.5 tbsp of sugar

Peel and chop the carrot, onion and ginger into smaller pieces of 1/2 to 1 inch in size.
Step 2
Place the chopped vegetables in a food processor. Add the remaining ingredients and blend until smooth.
Before serving, give it a taste and you can adjust the flavours as you wish by added more of what you like. If you find the texture too thick, take what you need and dilute it with a bit of water before serving. Store the rest in an air-tight container and it will last up to a week in the refrigerator.
