During our short trip in Johor Bahru back in March, we were invited to have a meal at KS Treasures Restaurant. Located at Taman Sentosa, this restaurant serves delicious Chinese cuisine. Chef Benson, the head chef as well as the owner of KS Treasures is very experienced with numerous titles to his name, having worked at many well-known restaurants prior to opening his own.

Cherry Tomato with Sour Plum

We started the meal with the perfect appetizer which garnered nods from everyone at the table – Chilled Cherry Tomato with Sour Plum (RM10). Served on a bowl of crushed ice, this cold dish is also one of the most popular items on the menu. Sweet, fragrant and slightly tangy, these juicy tomatoes serve as a great palate cleanser with its refreshing taste. A must-order from their menu!

Jasmine Tea Leaf Smoked Spare Ribs

Another interesting dish was the Baked Iberico Ribs (RM15.80/100g). It was served to us with a generous amount of tea leaves on the ribs. The ribs were tender and well – seasoned.

curry prawns

The curry prawns were a hot favourite at our table – we had fried mantou to enjoy it with and it was absolutely delicious. We couldn’t get enough of the curry gravy.

Poached Seafood Rice with Supreme Bisque

The highlight of the meal was definitely the Poached Seafood Rice with Supreme Bisque (RM118, serves 4-5 pax). It was served as the last dish and we were already quite full as we have had a lot of food at this point. Lots of delicious ingredients went into this one and everyone at the table had to go for a second helping. The soup was rich in seafood flavour with the use of clams, prawns and crab, impressive!

Our verdict:

We definitely recommend stopping by KS Treasures for a good meal. We find the prices very affordable especially for the quality of the ingredients that they use. There is also definitely something for everyone with its extensive menu, so it is perfect for families and gatherings.
