Bangkok is one of the most popular holiday destinations for Singaporeans because of the short flight away, its friendly people, affordable shopping and delicious food. Therefore, many couples visit this city for a short getaway because there is so much you can do. Here we have shortlisted a few activities we recommend couples to enjoy together to make your trip even more memorable.
1. Asiatique The Riverfront
This is where you get to eat, shop, and sight-see, all in one place! Start off with an authentic Thai meal, followed by a romantic ride on the 60-metre high Ferris wheel to enjoy the beautiful view of Bangkok at night and have fun shopping before ending the night. If you are looking for some special entertainment for a unique experience, go for a cabaret performance or a traditional Thai puppet show.
2. Dinner Cruise along Chao Phraya River
Plan a romantic dinner on a cruise during one of your nights in Bangkok. There are many to choose from, depending on your choice of cuisine and entertainment. It usually lasts about 2-3 hours, so take your time to enjoy the food and live music, while taking in the beautiful view of the River of the King.
3. Visit a pet café
If you are an animal-lover, there are numerous pet cafés in Bangkok which you can visit. Get to play with your favourite animal, be it huskies, rabbits or even owls – there is definitely a pet café for you in Bangkok. Spend some quality time with your partner showering some love on the adorable animals. It is definitely therapeutic and memorable.
4. Unwind with a Couple Spa
Having a spa or at least a massage is a mandatory when in Thailand, and you will be spoilt with choices in Bangkok. If you are feeling indulgent, you can even go all out and pamper yourself from head to toe by opting for a full day spa treatment which includes facial, manicure and pedicure.
5. Pray at the Trimurti Shrine
Also known as the Shrine of Love, it is conveniently located just outside Central World, so there is no reason not to drop by to pray for an everlasting relationship with your loved one during your trip. When you do, make sure you observe the specific set of procedures to offer your prayers.
6. Attend a couple cooking class
Cooking classes are quite popular in Thailand, and it can be much more fun to attend with your partner than doing it by yourself. Learn how to make your favourite Thai dishes authentically from a local, and bring the skill back with you. The next time you make Thai food together, you will be reminded of the fun times you shared in Bangkok.
7. Visit a Sky bar
Even if you are not a drinker, have a date with your partner at one of the sky bars in Bangkok. It is a priceless experience which we enjoyed ourselves during our first Bangkok trip together. The night view of Bangkok city is amazing and there is no better way to enjoy it than lying in the arms of our loved one with your favourite drink in your hand. Do take note that some rooftop bars are extremely popular so you may need to book a reservation in advance to avoid disappointment.
