PizzaExpress, the love child of founder Peter Boizot and his love affair for Italy, continues to make the world a happier place by pizza with innovative flavours. Following the success of their ‘Uniquely Singapore’ flavours for the nation’s 56th birthday, PizzaExpress is going back to basics in October with their new truffle series. Everyone’s favourite subterranean fungus is now a staple at restaurants, and a bona fide cult favourite due to its garlicky taste and distinct aroma. Launched on 4th October, the new truffle series includes the Truffle Pizza with Trio of Mushrooms, the Truffle & Mushrooms Farfelle in Truffle Cream Sauce and Truffle Fries.

PizzaExpress

For over 50 years, PizzaExpress has specialized in gourmet, hand-made Italian pizzas and pastas made with the freshest ingredients. Bringing over the iconic pizza toss over to the shores of Singapore and having trained passionate pizzaiolos who craft and toss creations by hand, they strive to bring the best of Italian cuisine to the table. All the food at PizzaExpress are made from scratch in-house using only fresh ingredients, with their pizzas traditionally made with the hand-toss method. PizzaExpress’s kitchen also adopts an open concept where diners can watch the masters at work, prepping and flipping pizzas.

A Truffle Lover’s Dream Come True

The star of the new series is their 14” Romana Truffle Pizza with Trio of Mushrooms ($32), layered with bechamel, truffle paste, white truffle oil, mozzarella, a trio of mushrooms including button mushrooms, shimeji mushrooms and portobello mushrooms, and showered with shaved black truffles and grated parmesan.

Pasta enthusiasts can opt for the Truffle & Mushrooms Farfelle in Truffle Cream Sauce ($26). Perfectly cooked al dente bow tie pasta is prepared in creamy truffle mushroom sauce, topped with button mushrooms, shimeji mushrooms, shaved black truffles and grated parmesan.

Whether you choose to enjoy the pizza or pasta, get a portion of their Truffle Fries ($9), a promising contender for the best truffle fries ever in Singapore. Infused with generous truffle oil, the aromatic smell of truffle will waft out of the kitchen, preceding its arrival. Golden shoestring fries are consistently crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and showered with tons of grated cheese on top.

The new series is available for dine-in and takeaway at all three of their outlets; islandwide delivery on https://pizzaexpresssg.oddle.me; as well as area delivery on GrabFood, FoodPanda and Deliveroo from 4th October onwards.

Match the new with the old classics

As much as PizzaExpress is all about the excitement of the new, it also celebrates the classics on its menu such as the Linguine Gamberoni al Aglio Olio ($22). The Linguine Gamberoni basks in its simplicity of al dente pasta, garlic, chilli flakes and fresh parsley, topped with plump, juicy, and bouncy prawns.

Another must-order is PizzaExpress’ Half & Half Pizzas – a brilliant life hack so one can enjoy the best of both worlds. One half Carbonara and one half Hawaii-Not is what we would recommend. The Carbonara features farmer-style bacon, mozzarella, parmesan, garlic oil and a fully cooked sunny-side-up on a creamy bechamel base, finished with fresh parsley and grated parmesan. PizzaExpress’s take on the Haiwaiian is rather unique, featuring traditional Hawaiian staples like the ham with pineapple chutney and mozzarella, and more unconventional ingredients like red onions, fresh basil, and fresh parlsey.

PizzaExpress’ Kids’ Kitchen Set Menu: Kids Get to Make Their Own Pizza

For the picky littles, make it a fun experience with PizzaExpress’ Make Your Own Pizza menu ($21) where they get to choose exactly what they want on their pizza. On a classic 7-inch dough, they may choose 4 toppings from mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese sauce, pineapple cubes, cherry tomatoes, pepperoni or ham, shredded chicken, corn kernels, button mushrooms or black olives to create the pizza of their imagination. The set also comes with a choice of gelato and juice (for dine-in only).

As home-based learning continues for school children during this stabilization period, PizzaExpress is trying to make things easier by offering the Make Your Own Pizza kit available for self-collection and on delivery.
